This course covers topics related to careers and professions.

6 weeks, 120 total hours.

¿What will you learn?

The industries related to industrial and recreational diving.

The connection between naval engineering and the underwater industry, including vocabulary and processes specific to offshore professions.

How tourism benefits from industrial and recreational diving using English as a communication tool, adding competitive value for English-speaking visitors.

The interaction within the marine ecosystem, as well as the processes to identify species and their relationship with aquatic habitats.

Some of the fundamental processes for activities and safety in industrial and recreational diving, including the use of SCUBA gear and surface-supplied equipment.

This course is organize by modules, with the following topics:

Module1: Introduction, you will have a general view about all the industries involved and how they are related

Module 2: Tourism and subaquatic industry where you will find topics about snorkeling and recreational diving

2.5 Diving experience and tourism

Module 3: Naval Nomenclature and Offshore Jobs, you will learn about the technical terms for the naval industry and offshore activities

Module 4: Introduction to diving you will explore the essentials of surface-supplied diving, and basics instructions to follow

Each module includes activities like, listen and repeat, grammar practice, writing, answering questions, videos, interviews with experts and reading comprehension, and also the quiz that will measure up your advance.

Minimum English language knowledge at B1 level (CEFR)

Yes, as long as you pass the course. The certificate will be issued by the Tecnológico Nacional de México.

What equipment do I need to take this course?

A computer or mobile device with internet connection and speakers or headphones.

What happens if I don’t complete the required exercises in the course?

You will not pass the course, and therefore no certificate will be issued.

How is it determined whether I pass the course?

The system automatically grades activities and evaluations, and calculates a final average.

What is the minimum grade required to pass the course?

The minimum passing grade is 70, on a scale from 0 to 100.
